Description
In the spirit of the Oscars, Tonys and Emmys, The READIs recognizes departments, academic units, and teams whose work advances Racial justice, Equity, Accessibility, Diversity, and Inclusive excellence at Loyola University Chicago.
The Office of Institutional Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion invite faculty and staff to apply for this year’s READI Impact Awards.
Eligibility - Great news, one application secures your submission into all 4 award categories!
Departments, academic units, or teams (of 2 or more) may submit a single entry for consideration across all award categories. All entries are only eligible to receive recognition for one of the following awards:
Contemplatives in Action Award
This award is to uplift the importance of an inclusive + well-defined strategy to drive shared DEI responsibility and results. The Contemplatives in Action Award recognizes a team who can outline an inclusive strategic planning process, demonstrate the incorporation of diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout the plan, highlight recent achievements and/or impact, and speak to a process for continuous improvement.
Co-Conspirator Award
This award is to celebrate the spirit of DEI collaboration. The Co-Conspirator Award recognizes two teams from different schools and/or units who develop a partnership to successfully execute a DEI project, program, or initiative for greater reach and impact.
Either team can enter and note the partnering team in their entry.
Catalyst Award
This award is about creating lasting changes and shifts in culture through innovative and sustainable DEI efforts. The Catalyst Award recognizes a team who has developed a program or made a change in policy, procedure or practices that reduces barriers and/or increases a sense of belonging for faculty, staff, or students at Loyola University Chicago.
Community Award
Honors those teams who have taken the work of equity and justice beyond Loyola’s walls and into the broader community. This award highlights those who are actively engaging with and uplifting external communities by building relationships, advocating for change, and creating real, positive impact through READI-focused work.
